Thinking Ahead for the New Year
It’s now the final quarter of the year, and you are probably already thinking ahead into 2017. Do you remember the goals you made for 2016?
Here are 4 questions to ask yourself:
- What were your biggest achievements in 2016?
- What were your biggest challenges?
- What goals did you meet in 2016?
- What goals should you set for 2017?
You need to recognize your progress from this year and make changes if you need to for next year. But, with the holidays coming up, how are you supposed to find the time to work on those goals?
Time is one of the biggest excuses a business owner uses for not getting things done. Maybe it’s “time” to evaluate your work life and your personal life. Where are you spending most of your time? Where are you spending most of your money? Make some decisions regarding what’s important and what’s not. Get your priorities in order, measure them against your goals, and work on new goals for 2017.
Don’t get trapped in your business. Many of us spend every waking hour working at our business. Don’t just RUN your business…OWN your business. It’s probably time to delegate those priorities so you can not only meet your goals for 2017, but so you can get out of those everyday operations and start owning your business.
Take some time every day to reflect on yourself and your business goals. What still needs to get accomplished this year? What’s left to do to meet some of those remaining 2016 goals? Plan to get them done before you have to start working on your 2017 goals.
And remember…make your goals ACHIEVABLE, but keep them CHALLENGING enough to keep you working at your best!
YOUR CHALLENGE: Take 10 minutes each day to reflect on your business! Do you want to work less next year?
